Fort Ord
January 29, 2009
On Wednesday the 28th a friend and I rode out at the Fort Ord jumps. But to our surprise South African Gavin Lubbe, American Joey Bradford and Dutch Martijn Scherpen were out at the jumps shredding. Not everyday you get to sesh with pro Bmx racers. It was a nice session with everyone. We rode until it was beginning to get dark. I was bummed out the big set wasn’t ride-able but Joey worked on that. I had parked away from the jumps so my friend Allen Stoddard gave me a ride to my car. My bike didn’t really fit so well in the car.

Thanks Martijn for the photo.

Preparing for Sonar 2, Jack and friends have been hard at work on trails. Here’s some content to water your mouth.

Here’s Jack Fogelquist explaining an interesting adventure him and Cob had today.
“I wouldn’t consider this a build day, but thought I would add it to the log. Cob and I went out after school to go dig because it started raining. On the way there we lost traction on one of the turns on Highway 9. The rear end started sliding out and Cob started to counter steer, but all of a sudden the front-left tire popped and we slide into the wall. The front of the car hit and we bounced off of it, still sliding. We stopped sliding facing completely backwards in the middle of the street with a flat front tire. Cob quickly threw it in gear and drove to the pull out on the side of the road. Luckily no cars were behind us or we probably would have gotten hit. We were perfectly fine too, but wondered how the car was. We got out to check the damage and surprisingly the only thing was some dirt and leaves on the bumper where we hit the wall, and the flat tire. No dents, cracks, or anything. We called AAA and he came out and fixed the tire. We were super lucky, because it could have been way worse. Anyway, here are some pics I took when we were waiting for the tow truck.”

Sorry, most of us at Prime have been busy with work and school, so it’s hard to keep this site updated from day to day. It’s been super sunny and summer-like over here on the central coast. But today the skies finally opened up and reminded us we’re still in Winter. Team Prime have been hard at work lately. Here’s a video of Micheal Hoenisch’s backyard with Team Prime. Enjoy

Max Rausch is Down
January 2, 2009
While everyone was resting from a long New Year’s Eve three riders went out to ride trails. Eric Walmsley, Max Rausch, and Vince Lucido journeyed to White Mountain to do some downhill riding. At around 1pm Eric and Vince came upon the aftermath and saw Max on the ground while following him on a trail. “My theory of what happend is that I didn’t see one of the railroad ties [on the trail] quick enough and it kicked me over the bars face first into a tree. I honestly remember ZERO of what happened. I woke up with Vince, Eric, and two hiker ladies standing around me.” Thank god Max was wearing his fullface helmet. He’s really hurt at the moment but if he wasn’t wearing his fullface he might not even be with us. It’s surprising the damage that’s been inflicted on Max even with a fullface. Max is suffering a concussion, broken eye socket, cheek bone, nose, and sinus bone. At the moment Max is resting at home before he returns to Stanford Medical Hospital to undergo facial reconstructive surgery on Wednesday to place titanium plates into his face in order to mend his broken face. Let’s all hope for the best for Max. Have Max in your prayers as he undergoes opporation on Wednesday.
